Tom has spent more than 25 years working in the Energy and Process industries in business development, portfolio management, plant management and asset management. He has worked for companies such as El Paso Energy, Apache Energy, Marubeni International, Curacao Utility Operating Company and Shell Unconventional Resources.
Prior to joining Aries Clean Technologies, Tom was the Utilities Portfolio Manager overseeing the FlexPOWER Bundle for CPS Energy in San Antonio. This effort was the first of its kind in the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP), evaluation of submitted proposals and contract negotiations for 900 MW of solar resources, 50 MW of storage resources and 500 MW of gas firming resources.
Tom has a depth of not only managing domestic projects but has worked and lived overseas. Over his career, Tom he progressively growing roles in operations and maintenance, starting his career as a Plant Engineer, working his way up to Plant Manager and subsequently overseeing a portfolio of 19 power plants in 6 different Asian countries.
Tom graduated from Purdue University, on a Navy ROTC scholarship, with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, upon graduation he was commissioned into the Navy and served on active duty from 1984 to 1992. This included two Western Pacific deployments and concluded with being handpicked to serve on the Propulsion Examining Board.
