About the job
Aries Clean Technologies’ core business is the elimination of wastewater treatment sludge and biosolids using Aries’ proprietary fluidized bed gasification and related systems. Aries has a first-generation plant in Linden, NJ and seeks to replicate and improve this plant into a fleet of self-developed plants across the country and internationally. Deployment of Aries patented technologies also brings measurable environmental benefits, including reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and diversion of waste and biosolids from landfills.
The Systems Administrator (reporting directly to the Head of IT) will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company’s IT systems, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves working closely with other IT professionals to support and enhance our technology environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and hardware.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Implement and manage security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.
- Manage user accounts and access controls.
- Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to plan and implement system upgrades and improvements.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and network protocols.
- Experience with virtualization and cloud services (e.g., VMware, AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with database management and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, PowerShell).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with IT security practices and tools.
- Knowledge of automation tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with Industrial Automation Systems
- Experience in Manufacturing or Industrial Environments.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate).
