Mark Thelen
Mark has over 25 years of experience in operations, project management, and engineering leadership in industries including midstream and downstream energy, petrochem, and polymers. Mark has directed the full life cycle for complex projects and programs in these sectors with a combined capital cost of over four billion dollars. Mark also served as a management team member for start-ups in the midstream and circular polymer sectors and has a proven track record of delivering successful projects and programs with limited internal resources.
Before joining Aries, Mark led engineering, project management, and operations for Freepoint Ecosystems in their startup chemical recycling of plastics business. Mark was also affiliated with Enterprise Products Operating where he managed cryogenic gas plants and NGL fractionation programs around the country. He also has experience on the EPC side leading an olefins recovery mega project for Kiewit OGC and with S&B engineers and constructors. He began his career in low-density polyethylene operations with Dow Chemical.
Mark holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station Texas.
